What are some options?

Online Tutoring

Grand Valley State University is offering K-12 virtual tutoring services in all of the core subject areas.  Follow this link for more information.

PowerSchool for Parents/Students

One of the best resources we have is PowerSchool - it provides you with a snapshot of how your student is doing and what is missing or bringing down their grades.  Letting your student know that you are going to check in will keep them accountable.  You can also set up alerts on your cell or other mobile device so you know of grades or changes immediately.  Here is a quick guide to setting up your account or using the mobile app.

Seesaw

Here is a video to assist parents in using Seesaw with their student.

Weekly Planner Template

A big part of being successful in school is staying organized.  With classes online and most teachers moving away from "paper/pencil" assignments and more into virtual and chromebook based work, it is even harder for us to keep track of what we are doing.  A great start is to keep a planner.  If you don't have one or need something to get you started, download this document.

App Tutorials

Our wonderful technology guru, Karle Delo, has put together tutorials and helpful videos for all of the common apps that your student may be using in class.  Here is a spreadsheet full of links to all of those videos organized by app.

Ovid-Elsie Area Schools Page

For more information about the district as a whole, check out the Ovid-Elsie Area Schools webpage.  There is great information and updates about what the district is doing at all of their individual schools along with contact information for administration and other teachers or staff.

The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you.
